I am a 46 yr old female and have been at my current position for for 5 yrs. My last review was very good. My dept. has continued to meet all its dealines/goals while running short staffed. 1 week ago, my father passed away. Last week, I began physical therapy for a miniscus injury to my knee, through workers comp, for an earlier fall down the stairs at work. On Friday (yestereday), at 4:45, after everyone had already gone home for the day, I was called into my bosses office and told I would no longer be supervising my staff; they would now be reporting directly to him. My position was being transferred into a new area, where I would be responsible for training 2 new (younger) hires. I would still retain my title "Supervisor", but not supervise anyone. When I inquired what I would be doing after the training was complete, I was told that management was still had to work out the assignements. Similar things have happened to other women in our dept. I’m the 3rd. Any suggestions?

This may not be that answer that you really want but if I was in your shoes I would go shopping not for Christmas gifts but for those things I want for myself, You will find as good a deal as there is on many items the day before Christmas but everyone says after. did you ever find what you were really looking for the day after Christmas I never have but I have found those things that I wanted the day before,…..just an idea
Real Estate Investment: Agreement of Purchase – Should a COMERCIAL form be used or RESIDENTIAL in this case..?
Hi,
I am putting an offer to purchase a property.
It’s a 4-plex with a Boucher shop on the main floor. so 4 residential units being rented out plus Boucher shop currently operated by the Seller.
The zoning based on City Planning Department is RESIDENTIAL.
After the purchase I do not plan to operate any store or Boucher shop there meaning the use will be 100% residential.
However, currently one can say its use is commercial/residential mix.
My question is what form should I use to put an offer – COMMERICAL Agreement of purchase or RESIDENTIAL Agreement of Purchase? I think some banks and lawyers treat commercial different than residential.
How will the bank decide whether it’s residential or commercial:
- Current use? (=residential/commercial mix) or
- Future use by buyer/me? (=residential only) or
- City Zoning? (residential)
THANKS.
Before you even write the purchase agreement, you should be looking at 2 things: whether or not you can convert the building to completely residential and whether your bank will loan you the money one way or the other on this property. Whether you have a commercial or residential purchase agreement will not matter because the bank will send out an appraiser and if you are trying to get this through as a residential property and the appraiser considers it to be a commercial property, you will not get your loan. So talk to your bank, talk to the municipality and then make your decision. What kind of purchase agreement you use would make no difference whatsoever.
City Health Dept says you’re fat & dumb!?
The News Report with Jim Lehrer tonight reported the Seattle Health Dept is requiring dining establishments must list on menus nutritional facts on all items. The thin guy at the Health Dept says this is due to an obesity crisis.
Guess you’ve all gotten fat & too dumb to know anything since I was last in your city.
How do you react when someone (usually an idiot) insists on passing a law rather than utilizing education?
I’m sure Mr. Mike S can walk into any restaraunt, look at an item, and know how many calories it has, or how much fat, or how big a serving it is and how many servings there are.
It’s not that easy. Even the so-called healthy stuff can pack on a ton of calories loaded with fat. Smart people have just as much trouble as idiots tellnig the nutritional content of food when dining out. We don’t measure what ingredients go into the food, so there’s no way for us to know unless they tell us.
I don’t care about the calorie content of a 1/2 pound burger. I know it’s unhealthy. It’s when I eat pasta, or a small serving of fish, or asalad, that I want to know, is the "healthy" food I’m eating REALLY healthy?
Does Kansas City have a downtown Department store?
We just visited Chicago and St. Louis and stayed downtown in both places. We very much loved both and shopping was great. We really liked the Downtown St. Louis and loved the huge Macy’s department store there. Headed to Kansas City next week and wondered if downtown has a department store like St. Louis and Chicago and also is it vibrant too?
crown center is at the edge of what is considered the downtown area lots of great shops

How can I go about making some suggestions for the city where I live?
We have a lot of bare land here where I live & since there is nothing thats gonna be built there I think the city should build some apartment complexes. How do I go about making these suggestions?
If you are talking about city-owned land, you should do a cost-benefit analysis and send a detailed letter to the mayor, council or whatever, proving that the benefits will outweigh the costs and that voting for your plan will not hurt the person’s chances for re-election. If it is privately-owned land, you can forget about the re-election part; just show that the owner will make lots of money.
In other words, just because you think it is a good idea other people will not automatically get behind it. You have to show them that they and the city will benefit too.
I heard a song by Eminem and Trick Trick called "Welcome to Detroit City"- what album is this on?

What is the best city to spend a long period of time in in Germany?
This is a question for people who are from Germany or who have spent a lot of time in the country. What in your opinion is the best and most interesting city to live in in Germany or spend a long period of time in? Also, Why do you recommend this city as the best, what are the reasons? How would you compare it to other German cities?
Well, here are my favorites from when I visited them:
1. Trier. This is my number one favorite city. Why? Let’s see:
A. It’s the oldest city in Germany. With ruins dating back to the 1st and 2nd century A.D., it’s fascinating.
B. The people are super friendly.
C. The food is excellent.
D. The churches, some of which date back to Roman times. Most notable (and one of my favorites) is the Trier Cathedral. I also love St. Paulin’s, though it’s not that "old" by German standards. I think it was completed in 1732. The ceiling painting is STUNNING. I was literally speechless when we entered the sanctuary.
2. Rothenburg ob der Tauber. This city is incredible, or at least, the old part is. Much of it is preserved to look exactly as it did in the middle ages. Many of the buildings date back to the 11th and 12th centuries. Plus, the restaurants are AWESOME, there’s lots of shopping, and the people are super nice.
3. Rüdesheim. It’s located on the Rhein River, and has lots of history, gorgeous churches, and lots of castles nearby. Again, it has great food, and the people were really nice and helpful.
4. München, also known as Munich. I was very impressed by this large city. There was enough historical architecture to keep me fascinated by it, great food (we ate at this Croatian restaurant off of Dachauerstrasse and the food was DIVINE), and the PEOPLE! Man, I don’t think I’ve ever met so many incredibly nice people! We got lost (easy to do), and wound up nearly out of gas at a gas station. I first asked the gas station attendant if he spoke English (which he did, perfectly), then told him we were lost. He then replied, "You’re not lost. You’re in Munich, the safest big city in Germany!" It was pretty funny. Then he gave us pretty good directions to get to our hotel, which we did find…eventually. Munich is also awesome, because it’s close to EVERYTHING. It’s about an hour or so from Füssen, which is where Schloss Neuschwanstein is located, and near the Linderhof palace. It’s also only a couple hours or less from Rothenberg ob der Tauber, Würzburg (another one of my favorite cities), the border of Austria, and Dachau.
There are lots of others (Dresden, Blautzen, Worms, Eisenach, Münstermaifeld, Idar-Oberstein…) that I really enjoy spending time in, but I figured I’d just give you my top four.
Does it bother anyone……?
That the New York City Fire Dept. lowered its standards again.
For the written test.
It should bother almost everyone.
In fact, it appears that it bothers almost no-one.
Where to take my Dad for a City Break in Europe?
Hello, I am 24 and my Dad is 60 and I would like to take him on a City Break for a weekend as he has had a very rough year and I want to do something nice for him.
We are both very interested in History, so was thinking somewhere like Berlin or Warsaw, we have both been to Paris before so wouldn’t want to go there again! Any suggestion of where we could go, with lots of things to see and do, would be very much appreciated!
Thanks!
If you are interested in history, your city is Rome definitely, the Eternal City… Even if in my opinion, a weekend is a too short period to visit that city…
