Your wedding party (also called as the bridal party) will include not only the people who you are counting on to help you with all the wedding planning, but these are also the ones you want to have by your side when you walk down the aisle and say your vows. They are your brothers, sisters, and closest friends.
A wedding party would typically comprise of the following people:
1. Best Man / Best Woman / Groom’s Honor Attendant
2. Groomsmen
3. Matron of Honor or Maid of Honor or Bride’s Honor Attendant
4. Bridesmaids or Bride’s Attendants
5. Ushers
6. Flower Girl
7. Parents
8. Grandparents
9. Officiate
10. Readers
11. Ring Bearer
12. Pages / Train Bearer
In addition to the above, there can be additional wedding party members specific to particular religions. These can include, for instance, Chuppah Carriers in Jewish weddings, Hattabin in Muslim weddings and Candle Lighters in certain Christian weddings. Because you want these people in your pictures, make sure the photographer includes all of them in your Utah wedding photography.
The following constitute some of the typical traditional roles of the wedding party:
1. Helping out with planning and tasks such as addressing invitations, running errands, and helping make important decisions
2. Helping the bride and groom get ready, and calm their nerves
3. Take formal photos with the couple either before the ceremony or during the cocktail hour
4. Be seated at the reception along with the newly-married couple
5. Support the couple’s marriage, encouraging their love and help them see through arguments and fights long after the wedding day.
Be sure to thank your wedding party for all their hard work!
