i have stamp 4 in my passport. i live in ireland with my irish wife. can we travel together to a europeon city without having to apply to get a visa for that specific country? does anyone know? thank you
All the countries of the EU except Ireland and the UK are part of Schengen. This means that a visa from one is valid for all the others too. But as Ireland didn’t join, your Irish visa won’t work for any country outside of Ireland.
As you’re married to an EU citizen, the schengen visa will be free, but you need to queue up at the embassy of the destination country to get a visa.
When you get home, write a letter to the Irish government requesting that they join Schengen. References :
